Everyone has that pair of sandals that they can just slip on to go outside, in the garage, or out to the pool, etc. But wearing them all the time is another story. Recently I was in the airport and I saw so many people with them. Not just that, but I saw a lot of really thin ones with even less support than other. At the airport you may have to remove them, which means going around barefoot - kinda gross! Also, some have their feet or toes hanging over the flops; that means their feet are dragging on the floor!
Besides all that, the feet have actually 3 arches. Not one is supported by flip-flips. Short distances are one thing but if going somewhere that you’ll be up or walking a bit, they're not a great idea. Maybe because it’s summer, I’m seeing people in flip flops everywhere.I was at the grocery store and saw a number of people. There’s a lot of walking, this isn’t good.
I watch a house flipping show and the one guy always has flops on. Now I know better, it’s not just posture here. You worry about stepping on something sharp or dropping something on your foot. It’s just not a good idea all around.
Same goes for the gym, if you ever drop a weight on your foot…! Your feet are your base, and to some extent posture starts here. So, believe it or not, neck pain can be helped by the proper foot support.
